I have long had a mild revulsion for potato-based soups. I've blamed the potato-cheddar soups my mother used to make. Lately, though, I've found myself quietly reminiscing about this childhood nemesis, suspecting it just wasn't as bad as all that....

My entire life, I thought I hated cranberries, and especially cranberry sauce. In my world, cranberry sauce was this jiggly can-shaped substance that you sliced on the can-imprinted lines and had once a year at Thanksgiving. Thank goodness I tried...

Have you ever had a recipe turn out completely different from what you had expected? I found a recipe for a squash soup that showed promise; sauté an onion in oil and butter, add chopped butternut squash, vegetable broth, cayenne...
