We began this site in March of 1999 as a small recipe collection. Our goal, then, was to share recipes and cooking tips with our friends and encourage them to submit recipes for us to post and try. After a year and a half, the site fell by the wayside and we stopped updating.

In July, 2004, we remembered the site and resurrected it. Using Movable Type and the same web host, we moved over the old recipe and cooking tip archives and began a new, updated food blog. Our goal, this time around, is not just recipe sharing. Oranges and Lemons is now a true weblog instead of a recipe collection.

In December 2004, we finally decided we'd purchase a domain name for the new site. We're both committed to updating this blog with new culinary adventures and are happy you've decided to give us a read.
